Celebrating 30 years in 2025, Ha!ifax Comedy Festival began in 1995 as an Atlantic Canadian comedy festival, promoting and showcasing talent from the Atlantic Provinces in the clubs of downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Three decades later, the Fest boasts multiple shows in various venues across the city and international headlining artists.
Ha!ifax ComedyFest is one of only three major comedy festivals broadcast nationally during prime-time hours on CBC Television, as well as streamed on CBC Gem, as part of a six-episode series.
The festival has had a positive impact on stand-up comedy in Canada, as well as on the careers of many stand-up comedians from Newfoundland to British Columbia. As one of the most successful and longest-running comedy festivals in Canada, Ha!ifax ComedyFest is a must-attend event each springin Halifax.
